The Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) has published a new briefing exploring how artificial intelligence can strengthen cyber resilience across the UK, helping organisations and critical infrastructure respond to increasingly complex cyber threats.
The report highlights the growing role of AI in areas such as threat detection, incident response, fraud prevention, and vulnerability identification. It also identifies Edge AI as a key technology for improving cyber resilience by enabling data to be processed locally on devices rather than relying solely on remote cloud infrastructure.
The briefing features a representative Edge AI architecture diagram from the National Edge AI Hub and discusses the benefits of Edge AI for privacy, security, operational resilience, and reduced reliance on centralised systems.
The National Edge AI Hub was also recognised in the acknowledgements, with contributions from National Edge AI Hub members like Hub Director Prof Rajiv Ranjan, Dr Jennifer Williams, Prof Savvas Papagiannidis, Prof Carsten Maple, and Prof Dhaval Thakker as well as Hub Manager Gaurav Kaushik during its development.
This recognition highlights the Hub’s continuing role in shaping national discussions around trustworthy AI, cybersecurity, and the future of resilient digital infrastructure.
