The submission deadline is Wednesday, 31 December 2025

Smart cities represent the future of urban development, promising to improve the lives of billions through enhanced infrastructure, services, and quality of life. However, the integration of advanced technologies also introduces new vulnerabilities and threats. Cybersecurity is crucial to protect the sensitive data, systems, and networks that underpin smart city operations. This special issue seeks to highlight the importance of cybersecurity in ensuring the resilience and reliability of smart cities.

The proposed special issue will focus on the critical role of cybersecurity in the development and sustainability of smart cities. As smart cities integrate advanced technologies such as IoT, AI, and 5G to enhance urban living, they also face significant cybersecurity challenges. This special issue aims to address these challenges by exploring innovative solutions, best practices, and emerging trends in cybersecurity for smart cities.

This special issue will provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of cybersecurity in smart cities, highlight the latest research and innovations, and offer practical insights for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers.
